Brela is a famous tourist place in Croatia on the Makarska Riviera. It is located 50 km from Split, and about 14 km from Makarska. Brela and other places on the Makarska Riviera, are known for its long pebble beaches and a long tradition in tourism. Beaches are followed by pine forests and the place has all the facilities needed for a pleasant holiday. Brela has a large number of apartments, rooms and boards. In Brela there are 4 quality hotels, numerous restaurants, taverns, pizzerias and cafes. For entertainment there are bars and disco clubs and organized fishing and music evenings. In Brela, you can recreate on some of the sports grounds, play tennis, football, basketball, bowl, or go scuba diving, sail on the sea... Numerous excursions are organized from Brela, to the nearby islands Brac, Hvar, Korcula and to the cities of Omis and Split. You can visit the mountain Biokovo-Croatian nature park or Medjugorje, which is 70 km away and it is known shrine visited by the millions of pilgrims. Brela have been often awarded with various prizes by the Croatian National Tourist Board for the arrangement of the place and achievement in the tourism industry.
