Brela is situated on the ideal location for one-day and half-day visits to the nearby places. Most of the one-day excursions which connect Brela with other destinations in Dalmatia make possible the exploring of this area.
The excursions vary from the old heart of Dalmatia, the city of Split, with its antique and medieval core built around the Roman emperor Diocletian's Palace, to the world famous Dubrovnik, and to the islands of Brač and Hvar, which are the Adriatic centres of literacy and culture. Makarska, as the centre of riviera and of the coastal area, is rich with the cultural sights: the city square with St. Mark's cathedral and Franciscan monastery with the well-equipped malacological museum.
If you want to enjoy the unforgettable beauty of the nature near the river Cetina, you should set out to Omiš and Radmanove Mlinice. The extraordinary union between Mediterranean and oriental culture can be seen in Mostar. The heritage typical for the Dalmatian hinterland can be visitied in Imotski, situated above the two lakes.
